McCusker Re-Accredited!
At McCusker we always aim to provide quality training that meets national standards. We recently received re-accreditation for five years as a Recognised Training Organisation. What makes this achievement extra special is that it is under the new 2007 standards that were only introduced on 1st July 2007. The new standards focus on the quality of the training outcomes as well as the integrity of our training systems. The auditor was very pleased with all he heard about us as he spoke to employers and students.
Thank you for your support and helping McCusker Learning and Development provide excellent service and recognition.
Dementia E-Learning
Christine Kilmartin, A Senior Learning and Development consultant at McCusker has been working this year on a Dementia E-Learning project. In partnership with Alzheimer's Australia WA, WestOne and Alzheimer's Australia Tasmania an informative and interesting training package has been created. This package is currently being piloted around Australia. When it is complete it will be able to be used by aged and community staff as well as volunteers in the sector.
The package is designed to be completed independently and at a person's own pace. Assessment is also possible and will lead to a nationally recognised unit of competency. There is a lot of interest in this package especially in the country where accessing training can be challenging for isolated services.
When the package is available we will let you know.
The project is being funded by the Department of Health and Ageing.
